The East Bay offers all you could ever want when it comes to getting down on the dance floor. The live music, DJ and dance scene in the Tri Valley, Oakland and surrounding areas offer great competition against the big city lights of San Francisco's dance clubs and venues. Take a look at these few listed as our 'tops' in dance clubs in the East Bay and you'll soon find there's plenty of action and fun to be had, all within reach, and all playing the best hits to bust a move to.

Redux Lounge

This modern lounge is East Bay's place to let go and dance to the best in rock, top 40 and all genres in between. This lounge caters mostly to the younger crowd, and offers a unique dance scene, with LED intelligent lighting, and some of the best West Coast DJs featuring rotating mash-ups of music beats. The live entertainment goes from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. every Thursday through Saturday. The nightlife here is full of socializing and fun, with two outdoor patios, and even VIP lounges that overlook the dance floor. Redux is located in the heart of Walnut Creek's downtown district.

Club 1220
1220 Pine St.
Walnut Creek, CA 94596

This bar stands out among the rest in the East Bay, not only because it has one of the most spacious dance floors, clean bathrooms and modern appeal, but also because it's one of the very few gay bars in the vicinity. The energy is great mostly because of the staff that is made up of good people quick to serve all patrons. The DJ plays everything from rock, hip-hop and pop. There is a diverse mix of people, strong drinks and all of the Katy Perry and Britney Spears hits one can dance to in a night.

Luka's Taproom and Lounge
2221 Broadway
Oakland, CA 94612

Maybe it's the funky vibe you get when you walk into this local dance club and bar and probably the hip music that the 'World Class DJ' spins on Wednesdays through Sundays that puts most fans of Luka's in the mood to dance the night away. Luka's has a brand new sound system to make your dancing a blast and a half. Weekend Club Specials charge only $5 for cover before 11 p.m. and no cover before 10 p.m. The Taproom itself proudly proclaims that this joint has been voted 'Best Pick Up Bar and Hottest Dance Floor.' Top off your tapping toes with great food, and if your gams get sore, hop, skip and jump over to the huge bar with ample seating for some fabulous drinks.

This Tri Valley hangout is a place where friends can go on a Friday or Saturday night and dance on a huge floor. Sunshine Saloon is serious about its dancing, since the bar has designed an enormous floor that covers half the space within the bar. The atmosphere is laid back. Drinks are great and reasonably priced. The food is the typical dive bar grub, and can be ordered until 10 p.m.
