Virtually since its opening in 1988, La Folie has enjoyed a reputation as one of the City's top restaurants, receiving a star from the Michelin Guide in addition to several four-star reviews from local media such as San Francisco Magazine. Chef Proprietaire Roland Passot is at the helm of La Folie, a simply gorgeous place, fronted by the La Folie Lounge, a sexy bar for cocktails and selected menu items in a more casual setting. Food and service are excellent and La Folie delivers a stellar dining experience whether for celebrations or simply enjoying time with family or friends. Elegance and fine dining has its price, of course, but dinner at La Folie offers a choice of three-course ($85), four-course ($105) and five-course ($125) menus to make the most of the occasion.

Acquerello, an exquisite Italian fine-dining spot in the City's Nob Hill neighborhood, is the perfect locale for classic contemporary Italian dining in a classy and elegant atmosphere. Acquerello is a definite award winner, with at least one Michelin star ever since the start of its Bay Area guide – and awarded two stars for 2015 – plus the Wine Spectator Grand Award winner in 2012, 2013 and 2014. This very special restaurant is operated by Giancarlo Paterlini, an acknowledged authority on Italian wine in the Bay Area, and Executive Chef Suzette Gresham, an exceptionally accomplished chef and Acquerello co-owner. Outstanding service, without being stuffy or rude, helps diners feel pampered and welcomed while dining on beautifully prepared dishes highlighted in the Prix Fixe Menu, Truffle Tasting Menu, Dessert Menu and Cheese Cart with its incredible array of specialty cheeses representing the regions of Italy. Frascati

San Francisco, CA 94109
(415) 928-1406

Some fans might say Frascati is the ultimate date spot as almost everything about the restaurant spells romance. Located on a cozy corner on Hyde Street in San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood, Frascati is a Mediterranean-style bistro that delights in its European glow, yet never forgets it is a comfy neighborhood bistro. The food is deliciously Mediterranean inspired with pronounced California influences, yet Frascati is equally well known for its extensive and eclectic wine list, wisely chosen to complement the food. Owners Rebecca and Jon Rader have steered their passion for great food and love of entertaining people into a very special upscale dining spot. Executive Chef Mike Pawlik directs his impressive culinary skills into fresh, luscious dishes that come directly from the heart.

Chapeau!
126 Clement Street
San Francisco, CA 94118
(415) 387-0408
www.chapeausf.com

Chapeau! first opened in 1996, but owners Philippe and Ellen Gardelle moved the restaurant into its current space several years ago, creating a friendly yet casually upscale dining spot. Located in the City's Richmond district on food-loving Clement Street, Chapeau! still manages to appear discreet. The restaurant gets high praise for its true classic French cuisine and sweet, romantic feel, evidenced right when you enter by the single rose on each table. Chapeau! is small and intimate, service is courteous and the food is divine, and it is one of the very few Bay Area restaurants to offer the classic French sauces French food lovers crave. One look at the restaurant's Appetizer Menu will convince you that Chapeau! is the real thing. While Chapeau! is reasonably priced for its high-quality food and dining experience, the restaurant offers Early Bird dining ($36.95) every day except Friday and Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m.
