Glide Thanksgiving Meals


Put on your apron and come to GLIDE to help chop, dice, mix and slice in preparation for their Annual Thanksgiving Day dinner or come serve thousands complete Thanksgiving meals with all the fixin’ to individuals and families. Then keep the holiday spirit going the day after Thanksgiving by helping serve breakfast.

Little Brothers: Friends of the Elderly


Ensure a positive holiday experience for the elderly. Come in on Thanksgiving Eve to help assemble meals and small favors for Thanksgiving home visits or volunteer Thanksgiving Day to work in the kitchen heating and packaging meals. Come see what’s in season – from peaches to beans and rice – and get it out the door. Help the SF Food Bank sort, package and distribute these nutritious foods for the community.

Thanksgiving Day Block Party


Now on its 28th year San Francisco City Impact is again reaching out to the Tenderloin Community in 2012 with a Thanksgiving Day block party that aims to deliver 10,000 hot meals to homes, serve 300 a sit-down Thanksgiving dinners, and deliver 500 grocery bags. Please note: A $25 registration fee is required and will go directly towards making this event possible.

Salvation Army Meal Delivery

Free Vegan Thanksgiving Dinner


Cafe Gratitude’s annual Free Thanksgiving Meal will be hosted by their Santa Cruz restaurant on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012. If you would like to volunteer to help run the cafe, please call 831-427-9583 to sign up as a server, bartender, dishwasher, line cook, opening crew, or closing crew member.

Meals on Wheels


Help bring food to our seniors on Thanksgiving day by either volunteering in the Meals on Wheels office (a four hour shift anytime between 8a and 3p, or helping deliver the meals directly to people in need in a 2 to 3 hour shift
