Suspect Caught in Oakland Robbery

OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS)- Oakland police have arrested a man who allegedly robbed a business in the city's Temescal neighborhood.

Officials say the robbery happened at about 5 p.m. when a man with a shotgun entered the business near 45th Street and Telegraph Avenue and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers later detained a man matching the suspect's description and were able to recover the stolen cash along with the shotgun and shells.

Police say the suspect was identified by witnesses and arrested on charges of robbery and possession of a firearm.

The area has been plagued by a string of armed robberies since May.
