The Second Harvest Food Bank was one of only four non-profits to get a maximum of $50,000 in grant money.
"This money will help us tremendously in not only our own infrastructure, but also some of the community partners that we help support," said Cindy McCown with the food bank. "And we feel it's critically important that we have that stability of funding so that they can count on us on an ongoing basis for food."
Second Harvest now feeds more than 230,000 people each month in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
