Charges Filed Against Man Accused of Throwing Toddler
OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS) A 21-year-old Oakland man has been charged with two felony counts of child endangerment and resisting arrest after he allegedly threw his 18-month-old daughter into the street Saturday afternoon.
An off-duty Oakland police officer was riding his bike his bike at 5th Avenue and East 15th Street around 5:40 p.m. when he allegedly saw the suspect, John Taylor shake and throw a toddler into the street.
It was later found out that the girl was Taylor's daughter.

The officer chased down the suspect and took him into custody. Based on Taylor's violent behavior, responding uniformed officers were forced to tase him to get him under control.
The toddler was run over by a Volkswagen Jetta, but was not seriously injured.
Oakland police spokeswoman Holly Joshi refused to confirm the suspect has mental problems.
"I don't know about his history as far as his mental illnesses are concerned," Joshi said. "But he was arrested and is currently in custody."
Taylor provided a statement and offered admissions and his involvement in the incident.
