USA Swimming Has 2nd List of People Under Scrutiny

USA Swimming has already released a list of 46 coaches and officials banned for life, most of them for sexual misconduct. Now the organization acknowledges to The Associated Press that it has a second list of people who are under suspicion for unscrupulous behavior.

The board met Tuesday to approve a series of measures that will be voted on at the national convention in September, another step in its efforts to cope with numerous allegations of coaches abusing underage athletes.

USA Swimming president Jim Wood tells the AP that the group will now pursue possible lifetime bans against those on the second list: people who were "flagged" but no action was taken against because they aren't current members. He's not sure how many people are on that list.
