Eight Displaced in Petaluma Fire

PETALUMA, Calif. (KCBS/BCN) _ A residential fire in Petaluma early Sunday morning has displaced eight people.

Petaluma Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeff Holden said the fire at 998 Crinella Drive was reported at 3:30 a.m.

A total of 20 firefighters responded to the blaze and were able to have it under control by 4 a.m.

Holden said there were no injuries and the fire caused an estimated $125,000 in property damage and another $25,000 worth of damage to contents inside the home.

The Red Cross is helping the family with shelter, clothing and food.

Holden said the fire likely started in the kitchen, but the official cause remains under investigation.
