East Palo Alto '09 Cabbie Murder Suspects Arrested
EAST PALO ALTO (BCN) - Two men wanted for allegedly murdering a taxi cab driver in East Palo Alto in 2009 were arrested this week in Stockton and Washington state, East Palo Alto police said Thursday.
East Palo Alto residents Oliver Catrell Ware and Donell Webster are accused of killing Derrick Powell of San Jose on July 2, 2009.
Powell was sitting in his taxicab in the 2700 block of Hunter Street in East Palo Alto when he was killed, the city's Police Department said.
Officers arrested Webster Wednesday in Stockton with help from the Stockton Police Department, East Palo Alto police said.
Ware was arrested Sunday in Tacoma, Wash., with help from the Tacoma Police Department.
The two men were arrested on murder warrants and taken into custody without incident, East Palo Alto police said.
