Yoko Ono & Lady Gaga Perform In Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBS) - Lady Gaga is well-known for her controversial style of performance, but not everyone is aware that even before Gaga's time, there was an inspirational woman named Yoko Ono. Many know her as the love of John Lennon's life, but she was her own artist as well. Find out more about these two powerful female artists and check out the photos of the "We Are Plastic Ono Band" concerts!

Yoko Ono and Lady Gaga joined forces onstage in Los Angeles on October 2, making headlines, and history. As part of a week of celebrations for what would have been her husband John Lennon's 70th birthday on October 9, Yoko held two all-star, sold-out "We Are Plastic Ono Band" concerts at the famous Orpheum Theatre this past weekend. These were her first ever L.A. shows.

Yoko was joined onstage for both nights by Sean [Lennon, son] as well as Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell, Wu-Tang rapper RZA, and actors Carrie Fisher, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Vincent Gallo. On the first night of the extravaganza the guests included punk legends Iggy Pop and Mike Watt.

GaGa wasn't the special guest until the second night (saving the best for last!). Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, were also there on the second night.

It may be hard to believe, but Gaga actually managed to upstage the notorious rock widow during her Plastic Ono Band performance! GaGa was of course towering above the petite Yoko in her signature platform boots and wearing a lavishly crystal-covered, black catsuit--which we can only say was a little more than revealing. (Her entire butt was exposed!!) Always pushing those borders aren't you GaGa?

Yoko, a woman who has been around for a while, and undoubtedly seen pretty much all there is to be seen, actually seemed awed by Gaga!! They were even cuddling together on top of a grand piano. Gaga joined Yoko for a duet of a song on Yoko's latest album, "The Sun Is Down". Later she sang along with the entire "supergroup" for an outstanding finale of "Give Peace A Chance."
