Police Arrest Suspect In Vacaville Laundry Coin-Op Thefts

VACAVILLE (CBS/BCN) -- A young Vacaville man was arrested Wednesday night after police found him allegedly stealing quarters from laundry machines in an apartment complex, police said.

Jose Villasenor, 20, was arrested in an apartment complex laundry room at 687 Rocky Hill Road at about 7:27 p.m. on Wednesday.

Villasenor apparently had several dollars in quarters in his pocket when he was arrested, and officers found him with tools to retrieve quarters from the laundry machines. Several machines were already broken into and had coins removed.

Statements from Villasenor revealed he might be responsible for 25 more burglaries from coin-operated machines in Vacaville apartment complexes. Police said the thefts took place between Sept. 27 and Nov. 3, 2010.

Villasenor was booked in Solano County Jail and faces charges of possession of burglary tools, theft, vandalism, violating probation, and multiple burglaries to coin-operated machines.
