Paperless Newspaper Coming Out On iPad

SAN JOSE (KCBS) -- Apple and News Corp are reportedly set to launch The Daily, the first iPad-only news publication.   Rupert Murdoch, the CEO of News Corp, recently said that people are willing to pay a premium for online news.

The Daily has already hired at least 100 reporters. The reported cost of the paper will be $1 a week, and Larry Dignan, the editor in chief at ZDNet thinks that will appeal to people.

KCBS' Matt Bigler Reports:

"You're basically saying this is cheaper than going to Starbucks, right?" he said. "It's not going to break anybody's bank."

Dignan said the question is whether the original content on The Daily, which will reportedly launch next year, will be worth paying for.
