Giants Fans Line Up For Photos With World Series Trophy

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Thousands of people are lining up in San Francisco to take that special picture this holiday season, and they're donning their best orange and black to do it.

Nearly 12,000 San Francisco Giants fans are expected to pose for photos with the World Series trophy over the next several days. Season-ticket holders decked out in hats, pins, sweat shirts and jerseys in the team's signature colors lined up for their date with the trophy starting Monday.

Fans were reminded they can't touch the 20-pound, sterling silver trophy, though many found it hard to resist. Only an official team photographer could snap the photos — no personal photos allowed.

Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter told the San Francisco Chronicle that the trophy always travels with its own security.
