Former Gang Member Found Shot Dead In Vallejo Parking Lot
VALLEJO (BCN/KCBS/CBS 5) - A man was found shot dead inside a vehicle in a hotel parking lot in Vallejo Friday morning.
The victim was identified as 23-year-old Enrique Jimenez. Friends and family members said he was a former gang member who had turned his life around.
The body was found in a pickup truck in the parking lot of the Howard Johnson Inn and Suites, an employee at a nearby Grocery Outlet store said. The hotel and store are both located on Admiral Callaghan Lane, just off of Interstate Highway 80.
KCBS' Margie Shafer Reports:
Employees at a nearby Grocery Outlet store heard shots around 5:00 a.m. Friday morning. Police arrived and found Jimenez slumped over the steering wheel.
Witnesses said they saw a man fleeing the scene, but police have not released any suspect information.
