Pinole Student Arrested After Alleged Teacher Threat

PINOLE (BCN) - A freshman boy at Pinole Valley High School was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly told a school counselor that he planned to kill a teacher, Pinole police said.

The boy went to the school's health center at about 10:30 a.m. to talk to a counselor.

He told the counselor that he was angry with a teacher because he believed the teacher had embarrassed him in front of other students, police said.

He allegedly said that he planned to kill the teacher and then stopped talking and walked off campus without permission, police said.

The counselor reported the incident to the principal, who notified a Pinole police school resource officer on campus.

School resource officers found the boy walking down Tennent Avenue and arrested him.

During a search of his belongings, the officers allegedly found a notebook that contained a written plan for how the boy planned to kill his teacher, police said.

The boy allegedly later confessed to officers that he was indeed planning to kill his teacher and had devised a plan to escape from police afterward, police said.

The boy was booked into Juvenile Hall in Martinez on suspicion of making threats against a school official.
