Prince Announces Oakland Tour Dates

SAN FRANCISCO (CBSSF) – Musical genius and true artist, Prince has declared that he is kicking off his "Welcome 2 America" Tour starting with 2 nights, right here in Oakland at the Oracle Arena. The tour will start on Monday, February 21st and Wednesday, February 23rd, both at 8:00pm.

With closing out 6 incredible shows in New York, so good even Kim Kardashian got off (literally, off the stage) completely star struck by the purple one's raw presence. Critics stood up, applauded and wrote deliriously joyous reviews about the show. The New York Daily News raved, "Prince worthy of all royal accolades…The hit-friendly show had a kinetic confidence and racing pace that spoke of his singular place in pop history," while the New York Times said "It's easy to envision Prince as another Chuck Berry or James Brown, barnstorming for decades to come." The Star-Ledger encouraged fans to see the show with their review - "Any doubt that the diminutive singer could still bring the heat was put to rest at the explosive concert that kicked off the Welcome 2 America tour…Prince, remarkably, remains at the height of his powers. He's a national treasure. Catch him while you can", according to Live Nation's Facebook post.

Rolling Stone adds, "He had the crowd panting as soon as he hit the stage…It was unbelievably great. Do you go to a Prince show for predictable consistency? Ah, no. You go for moments of divinely inspired madness — and last night, he delivered as many of those as a fan could expect."

Tickets for the Oakland shows go on sale Friday, February 18th at 12:00 Noon PST at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com. Based on the reviews and the growing hype over Prince's shows, there will be no doubt these shows will sell out.
