Boat Burns Near Alameda Yacht Club
ALAMEDA (CBS SF) - A fire destroyed a houseboat and created a brief spectacle in Alameda today but didn't cause any injuries, a fire official said.
The blaze was reported shortly before noon at the Fortman Marina at 1535 Buena Vista Ave., acting Fire Chief Michael Fisher said.
Firefighters controlled the blaze within about 15 minutes, he said.
The boat, which was unoccupied at the time of the fire, was destroyed, but no other vessels or buildings were damaged, Fisher said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
