2 More Teens Arrested In CoCo Strong-Arm Robberies

DISCOVERY BAY (CBS SF) - Two more teenagers were arrested Tuesday in connection with a string of robberies in Discovery Bay earlier this month, Contra Costa County sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said Thursday.

The first two suspects, a 16-year-old Discovery Bay resident and a 16-year-old Antioch resident, were arrested March 24 on suspicion of conspiracy and two counts of robbery.

Then on Tuesday, investigators arrested a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, both Discovery Bay residents, in connection with the case.

The robberies began on March 21 when a group of juveniles robbed a 19-year-old pizza deliveryman at about 9 p.m. in the 1400 block of Cullen Drive, Lee said.

The group stole cash, an iPod, several pizzas and a soda.

At about 5:30 p.m. the next day, what appeared to be the same

group of juveniles approached a 14-year-old boy walking on Lakeshore Circle.

They attacked the boy and took his headphones, Lee said.

About an hour later, at 6:45 p.m., the group allegedly attacked two boys, ages 13 and 14, who were walking on Lakeshore Circle and stole an iPod from them.

All four suspects have been booked into Juvenile Hall in Martinez.

Their names are not being released because of their ages.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the case to call the sheriff's office investigations division at (925) 313-2600 or Lt.  Mike Burton at the Delta Station at (925) 427-8510.
