Livermore Hosting Amgen Tour Photography Contest

LIVERMORE (CBS SF) -- The city of Livermore is hosting a photography contest as part of the Amgen Tour, a bicycle race through California that includes an 81-mile stretch from Livermore to San Jose next month.

The Bike Race Photo Contest is open to everyone, and all participating photographers will be invited to a reception honoring the winners in July, organizers said.

Stage Four of the race, an eight-stage event that begins May 15, will begin on May 18 in Livermore and includes three grueling climbs, according to the website.

The photography contest consists of two divisions, one for participants over the age of 18 and one for those who are younger.

A registration fee of $25 is required to enter as well as a photo entry fee of $10 for adults and $5 for children. The deadline for registration is May 13 at 4 p.m.

Winning photographs will be displayed at the Livermore City Hall Art Alcove at 1052 S. Livermore Ave, organizers said.

Registration forms are available at www.cityoflivermore.net.
