Petaluma Police Nab Teens For Attempted Assault With Knife, Crowbar

PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- Two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of attempted assault with a deadly weapon inside a Petaluma shopping center early Saturday morning, according to police.

Andres Martinez, 19, and 18-year-old Vicente Martinez, both of Petaluma, got into an argument in the Golden Eagle Shopping Center located at 80 East Washington St. at about 12:10 a.m., police said.

Andres took out a crowbar and Vicente tried to slash someone nearby with a knife, and both suspects then ran away, according to police.

Officers quickly located both suspects near a parking garage on C Street, and the pair was then arrested.

Andres and Vicente were booked at Sonoma County Jail on weapons charges. Both weapons were recovered, police said.
