Narsai David Review: 'Serve Yourself, Nightly Adventures in Cooking for One'

(KCBS) - KCBS Food and Wine Editor Narsai David reviews a new cookbook by Joe Yonan called 'Serve Yourself: Nightly Adventures in Cooking for One.'

Joe Yonan, the James Beard Award-winning food editor of the Washington Post, offers a new cookbook all about cooking for yourself. This is the third cookbook I've seen this year of recipes for one. Yonan does lots of creative things here. He discusses basic recipes with condiments; and there are chapters on eggs; sweet potatoes, beans and other veggies; meat, poultry and seafood; tacos, pizzas, sandwiches; rice, grain, and pasta; and desserts. The recipes use things it's easy to have around. Let's say you want to make lasagna but you don't have any lasagna. No reason you can't mix and match. He makes one with Pappardelle. Get lots of creative ideas in this new book published by Ten Speed Press.
