Volunteers Fan Out Again For Missing Bay Area Nursing Student

HAYWARD (KCBS / AP) - Volunteers, including a number of nursing students who say they never even met Michelle Le, 26, offered their time Friday for the continued search for the young woman who was last seen at a Hayward hospital several weeks earlier.

This latest search party for the missing woman began Friday morning in Hayward and was expected to last through the weekend.

Investigators have reclassified Le's missing person case as a homicide investigation. But the men and women out looking for her Friday were undeterred, and many said they simply couldn't accept authorities' explanation of what had happened to the young woman.

The 26-year-old woman was last seen May 27 leaving Kaiser Hospital in Hayward as she took a break from her shift. No suspects have been identified.

KCBS' Margie Shafer Reports:

Investigators said Thursday night that they're looking at new surveillance video from the hospital garage whether her car was parked. They haven't said what's on the video.

A $65,000 reward is being offered in the case.
