A man armed with a gun confronted the owner of  a white Chevrolet Camaro at 7:09 p.m. in the Third Street Garage, a parking garage located at 95 N. Third St., according to San Jose police.

The gunman took the Camaro and kidnapped the vehicle's owner during the carjacking, police said.

Officers launched an intense search for the sports car, even employing the department's SWAT team.
