(KCBS) - KCBS Food and Wine Editor Narsai David reviews what the Spanish call 'cava' that are not only delicious but a great value as well. Prices range from $10 to $18.
Narsai Ranks These In Order of Preference:
Segura Viudas ARIA Estate Brut, $14
This one comes in a very exotic bottle like an expensive champagne. It has a nice, yeasty aroma and nice finish on the palate.
Freixenet Cordon Negro, $12
This has a nice fruit and nice finish. It's a good everyday bubbly.
Segura Viudas Brut Reserva, $10
This one is very fruity with a short, simple finish. Sometimes Bevmo has it on sale for $6. Really hard to believe a wine this good could be sold at such a low price.
Segura Viudas Brut Rose, $10
This is kind of rich and heavy on the palate. Definitely a food wine.
