NEW YORK (CBS) – Rita Moreno has a lot to celebrate: She’s won just about every notable award in the entertainment industry — an Oscar, a Tony, a Grammy, and two Emmys. The movie that made her a household name — “West Side Story” — just marked its 50th anniversary, and last week, she celebrated her 80th birthday.

VIDEO: “West Side Story” turns 50

On “The Early Show,” the East Bay resident discussed her career in Hollywood, including how she turned down roles due to ethnic typecasting following her “West Side Story” success. Moreno also told co-anchors Erica Hill and Chris Wragge about what she feels she could have done better in the now-classic musical.

Check out the video here,  for the first part of her interview, in which Moreno talks about finishing her one-woman show, “Life Without Makeup,” and her current television show role on TV Land’s “Happily Divorced” as the mother of Fran Drescher’s character.

But how does she keep working so much at age 80? Check out Moreno’s philosophy for living, here.
