The 21st annual Zinfandel Advocates and Producer's Zinfandel Festival a splendid celebration of one of the more versatile varieties of northern California's spectacular grapes — offers three days of vino bliss with four very different events. More than 200 wineries, several local restaurants and gaggles of wine lovers will take part in this festival of Zin, and tickets are already getting hard to come by. Go the distance with all four events, or just raise a glass with a flight or a pairing. Whichever way you go, there is no better opportunity to enjoy all of the beauty this complex fruit has to offer than at one of the largest single-varietal celebrations in the world.

Master chefs and masterful wines come together in perfect harmony in this fantastic flavorful kickoff to the festival. Fifty restaurants and 50 of the top Zinfandel wineries get together for pairings, taking guests on a wild journey of gastronomic goodness. For example, Ballentine Vineyards has paired its wines with Rose's Café, serving whipped gorgonzola crostini with a spiced honey gastrique. Still not convinced? Ridge Vineyards has partnered up with Wayfare Tavern and will be tantalizing your palate with braised lamb shoulder, black pepper spaetzle with a white anchovy salsa verde. This pairing doesn't just stick to the savory, either; Barefoot Cellars cooked up confections with Sonoma Cake Creations presenting its wines alongside mini cupcakes and mini cheesecakes with Zinfandel sauces.
