SF Richmond District School Evacuated During Bomb Scare

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A San Francisco police bomb squad responded to the city's Inner Richmond neighborhood, where a suspicious package was reported.

The package was discovered in the 600 block of Sixth Avenue at 2:40 p.m., police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Sixth Ave. was shut down between Balboa and Cabrillo streets, and a nearby school and an apartment building were evacuated, Esparza said.

The package was discovered in an alleyway, he said.

Esparza did not know which school had been evacuated, but Frank McCoppin Elementary School is located on that block.
