Flores told the court there were four incidents of abuse when Mirkarimi was a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Flores said an incident in February 2008 turned physical. According to the ex-girlfriend, it started with an argument over women’s panties that she found at Mirkarimi’s house that were not her own.
“He said they were mine,” Flores said. “I said, ‘You’re lying …those are not mine. I know my own underwear.’”
Flores said she tried to leave, but then Mirkarimi grabbed her arm hard. When she showed him the bruise the next day, she said Mirkarimi apologized then later sent her an email referring to the incident as his “unintended, disappointing behavior.”READ MORE: South Bay Surfer Helping To Clean Up Beaches In Half Moon Bay, South Africa
Flores told the court she came forward and filed her own police report after reading a news report that Eliana Lopez was recanting her story.
She felt that given what happened to her, Lopez was being bullied to change her version of events.
Flores said she was dating Mirkarimi between 2007 and 2008 and was still seeing him when Mirkarimi met Lopez and fathered a child with her.
Flores said his plan was to raise the child here. She told the court that Mirkarimi described Venezuela, where Lopez is from, as a “third world country” and “filthy.”
In the pretrial hearing Flores also said Mirkarimi had planned to set up Lopez here in an apartment to keep her as a “baby mama.”
Flores said Mirkarimi claimed “he wanted to be like Willie Brown.”
