Suspect In Emeryville Attacks On Women Considered Armed and Dangerous

EMERYVILLE (CBS SF) - Within the past week, at least two women were violently attacked and Emeryville police believe the same man accosted both victims. Officers described that man as armed and dangerous.

Police said the two incidents occurred within a few blocks of one another. On Powell St. Last Saturday, a female restaurant employee said she was accosted at gunpoint, robbed, and forced to disrobe in the back of the business. She told authorities the suspect ran off when she screamed.

In the second instance, on Wednesday evening, a woman leaving a business and returning to her car in a parking garage was accosted by a man she said was wearing a security guard uniform. She reported being forced into her car, groped, threatened and stuffed into the trunk, before she managed to escape.

KCBS' Bob Melrose Reports:

Police describe the victims as courageous and helpful in the investigation.
