BELMONT (CBS SF) – An 80-year-old woman jogging on El Camino Real in Belmont on Tuesday afternoon was injured when a car struck her while she was crossing the street, police said.
The woman was crossing El Camino Real at Middle Road in a crosswalk when she was hit by a 1988 Toyota driven by an 83-year-old man, according to the Belmont Police Department.READ MORE: COVID Vaccines: Marin County Set To Expand Eligibility; Seniors Say Finding Appointments Still A Challenge
The man, who was not injured in the collision, was apparently making a right turn onto El Camino Real and did not see the jogger, police said.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.READ MORE: Santa Clara University Receives $25M Donation for Tech Center
The collision remained under investigation.
