Rick Santorum To Appear At Fairfield's Jelly Belly Factory Thursday

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is planning to hold a rally at the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield on Thursday.

Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, will appear at 4 p.m. Thursday at the factory, located at One Jelly Belly Lane.

The rally will be free to the public and will be followed by a private fundraising reception at the factory at 5 p.m. that costs at least $1,000 to attend, according to Solano County Republican Party organizers.

Because of Santorum's visit, the Jelly Belly facility will close to the public early on Thursday. According to the company's website, tours of the factory will end at 2:30 p.m., and the visitor center will only be open until 3:30 p.m.

On Thursday evening, Santorum is scheduled to attend a 6:45 p.m. private fundraiser at the home of Mark and Becky Pine in Alamo, according to his campaign. Tickets range from $125 to $2,500.

Santorum's Bay Area visit comes days after leading Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney appeared at a fundraiser at the Hotel Sofitel San Francisco Bay in Redwood Shores on Monday.
