6 Arrested After Good Samaritans Beaten, Robbed In Rohnert Park

ROHNERT PARK (CBS SF) - A pair of good Samaritans in Rohnert Park Sunday night were attacked and robbed after helping out an elderly man who was being harassed by a group of suspects in their 20s, police said.

Police arrested Santa Rosa residents Bryan Butler, 23 and Whitney Millstone, 25, Petaluma residents Justin Casarotti, 27, Alyssa Casarotti, 23, Jared Cavanaugh, 25, of Novato and 23-year-old Jordan Pool from Ukiah on suspicion of robbery.

Around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Rohnert Park Public Safety received multiple calls of a fight involving several people in the driveway area of 6340 Commerce Blvd.

In less than three minutes, officers arrived on the scene and determined that six suspects had exited their vehicle and confronted an elderly man, police said.

Police said a man and woman in their 20s driving nearby as the confrontation took place exited their vehicle and told the suspects to leave the elderly man alone.

That prompted the suspects to attack the two Samaritans, punching and kicking the man to the ground and attacking the female victim after she yelled for them to stop, police said.

Witnesses in the area came to the victims' aid and the six suspects fled in a white BMW, taking some of the victim's property, police said.

The suspects drove south on Commerce Boulevard where a patrol car was waiting for them.

All six were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail.

Police said the male victim suffered moderate injuries to his face and mid-section while the woman suffered minor injuries. The pair drove themselves to the hospital for treatment.
