Child Rescued From Waters Off SF Crissy Field

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A child was rescued from the waters off of Crissy Field Friday afternoon, according to San Francisco fire officials.

Firefighters were called to the beach on San Francisco's northern waterfront around 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The 12-year-old child was pulled from the water alive and transported to California Pacific Medical Center for treatment. The child was not seriously injured, a fire dispatcher said.

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter assisted in the rescue, the dispatcher said.
