Fire In Vacant Martinez House Causes Major Damage

MARTINEZ (CBS SF) -- Firefighters extinguished a one-alarm fire in an apparently vacant Martinez home on Monday night, a fire dispatcher said.

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to the fire at 403 H St. at 11:35 p.m.

The fire was under control by midnight, and no one was injured in the blaze, officials said.

The home appears to be vacant at the time as no one came out of the house nor was found inside, fire officials said.

The fire caused around $60,000 in damage.
