2 Bay Area Men Killed In Delta Boating Accident

STOCKTON (CBS / AP) -- A Bay Area family is mourning the deaths of two cousins who drowned when their boat capsized in the San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta west of Stockton.

The victims are 41-year-old Acemoore Pittman of Oakland and his cousin, 37-year-old Johnnie Johnson of Hayward. They were fishing on Saturday morning when the boat overturned.

Johnson's body was found a short time later. Pittman was discovered around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Another cousin of Pittman's who was on board, Joseph Bell, survived.

San Joaquin County sheriff's Lt. Phil George said the boat may have capsized when one of the men stood up. None of them was wearing a life jacket.

Relatives say Pittman and Johnson loved to fish, particularly angling for catfish. They were both married and had children.
