Cyclist Not Expected To Survive After Oakland Hills Crash

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - A man riding his bicycle with a fellow cyclist in the Oakland Hills on Wednesday evening was gravely injured when he hit a dip in the roadway, lost control and crashed, Oakland police said.

The bicyclist was riding downhill in the 7300 block of Redwood Road at the edge of Redwood Regional Park when he hit a dip and became airborne.

The incident was reported at 6:50 p.m., police said.

He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and is not expected to survive, according to police.

The cyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
