Woman Loses $2,000 Responding To Palo Alto Milkshake Attack

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) - A woman apparently lost $2,000 when she tossed her handbag at a car full of young men that she claims threw a milkshake at her, according to a report from the Palo Alto Weekly.

Palo Alto police said just before midnight on June 24th, a woman walking on University Avenue was hit with a vanilla milkshake thrown from a Range Rover full of male teens. Police said the woman apparently responded by hurling her purse into the open window of the SUV. The bag has not been seen since.

The alligator handbag contained $2,000 and a number of personal items, according to the report. The woman has denied throwing the bag, but police told the Palo Alto Weekly that there is no indication that the purse was taken.

The teens have not been located, but could face battery and possession of stolen property if caught.
