Motorcyclist Killed In Antioch Crash

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- An 18-year-old man died in a solo-motorcycle accident in a residential neighborhood in Antioch Wednesday evening, police said.

Antioch police received an initial 911 call shortly after 7 p.m. reporting that a motorcyclist had crashed in the near the intersection of Canada Valley Road and McFarlan Ranch Drive.

The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A woman on the scene who claimed to be his relative was able to identify the motorcyclist as an 18-year-old Antioch resident.

The victim's name is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of additional family members, police said.

The investigation was ongoing and police encourage anyone with information about this collision to call Antioch police Officer Zanarini at (925) 779-6900 ext. 82296.
