Tech Report: Olympics On Your Smartphone

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— The Olympics are well underway and for those who aren't satisfied viewing only the events that are being shown on television, you now have a number of different options this time around.

NBC is streaming almost every event live online as well as through apps that are available for smartphones.

With the apps you can pretty much watch anything in real time and considering the peacock network is only broadcasting a fraction of what's going on in London, many people are turning to technology.

KCBS Tech Report:

The top technology officer for Los Angeles actually had to ask city workers to stop watching, saying it could bring down the city's network by overloading servers.

Also with buffering issues you may think you're watching live, when in fact it is a little bit delayed. Many people are tweeting the live results and spoiling it for others who haven't seen the events yet.
