Santa Rosa Check 'n Go Robbed At Gunpoint

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Police were searching for a suspect in connection with an armed robbery at a check cashing business in Santa Rosa on Thursday evening.

At approximately 6 p.m., Santa Rosa police were called to the Check 'n Go, located at 1331 Guerneville Road, just after a man robbed the store clerk at gunpoint.

Police searched the area for suspects but were unsuccessful.

The police investigation revealed that a suspect walked into the Check 'n Go demanding cash and threatening the cashier with a handgun.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store, police said.

The suspect was described as an unshaven white man between 45 and 55 years old who was wearing a red flannel jacket, baseball cap and sunglasses, and was armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect was asked to contact detectives of the Santa Rosa Violent Crimes Investigations Team at (707) 543-3590.
