San Francisco Taxi Spins Out, Kills Pedestrian

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- Police said a San Francisco taxi spun out and killed a pedestrian after the cabbie ran a red light.

38-year-old Edmund Capalla was crossing the street in the Tenderloin district on Saturday evening when the taxi struck. Capalla's name was released on Monday.

Police spokesman Albie Esparza said the taxi ran a red light and was struck by a car entering the intersection. The taxi was sent spinning into Capalla.

The District Attorney's office will decide if charges will be filed against the cabbie, whose name hasn't been disclosed.
