Sebastopol Dad Says Son's Hallucinogen Death In Peru Was Murder

SEBASTOPOL (CBS/AP) -- The father of a Sebastopol teen has raised more than $8,000 to bring his son's body back from Peru, where police said the 18-year-old was buried by a shaman after he drank a brew made with a hallucinogenic plant.

Sean Nolan told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat he thinks his son was murdered. He said more than 80 people have donated money to bring the teen's body home for a second autopsy.

Kyle Nolan went on a spiritual retreat in the Madre de Dios region of Peru on Aug. 17.

After he didn't return home to Sebastopol, a shaman told authorities that Nolan died on Aug. 22 after he ingested too much Ayahuasca tea. The shaman and two other men were later arrested on charges of homicide and illegally burying a body.
