UC Berkeley Campus Cop Accidentally Shoots Himself In The Leg
BERKELEY(KCBS)—A University of California Berkeley campus police officer accidentally shot himself in the leg Tuesday morning as he prepared for work, according to a report in the Oakland Tribune.
The incident took place in the police locker room at Sproul Plaza and the officer suffered non-life threatening injuries.
"He was holstering his weapon and shot himself in the leg," Police Capt. Margo Bennett told the Tribune.
Fellow officers immediately tended to the injure officer, who is identified only as a 20-year veteran. He was taken to Highland Hospital for treatment.
