BERKELEY (Bleacher Report) — Saturday’s 21-3 romp over the University of California in the Big Game not only ensured that the Stanford Axe remains in Cardinal possession for another year, but it should put to rest any thoughts that Stanford has no shot at reaching the Pac-12 championship game.

Don’t let that score fool you—the game wasn’t as close as it appears. Stanford held Cal to three yards rushing on the day—a day that saw Stepfan Taylor carry the ball 28 times for a career-high 189 yards, including a seven-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that proved to be all the offense they needed.
