Embarcadero BART Station Closed After Man Dies On Tracks; Major Delays
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Embarcadero BART station is closed this evening after a man died on the tracks in an apparent suicide, according to BART spokesman Jim Allison.
Witnesses report seeing the victim, who was described as a white male, jump in front of a westbound train in the station around 7:48 p.m., Allison said.
The station is closed for the investigation and trains on all routes are passing through without stopping. Passengers wishing to board or disembark in downtown San Francisco should go to the Montgomery Station instead, Allison said.
There is no estimated time for reopening.
