Police Detonate Live Pipe Bomb After San Jose Traffic Stop; Driver Arrested
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police detonated a live pipe bomb found in a car during a traffic stop in San Jose Wednesday night.
Officers stopped the driver of the car for a traffic violation near the intersection of North First Street and Matrix Boulevard at 8:48 p.m.
After a search of the vehicle, police found a suspicious device and called in a bomb squad.
KCBS' Matt Bigler Reports:
The bomb squad arrived shortly after 10 p.m. and detonated the pipe bomb without incident or injuries, police said.
The adult male suspect was in custody Thursday morning, police said.
