E. Bay Teens Suspected Of Blowing Up A Mailbox With Pipe Bomb

PLEASANT HILL (CBS) -- Pleasant Hill police arrested 3 teenagers Friday night for allegedly using a pipe bomb to blow up a mailbox.

Police found the suspects after witnesses gave them a description of the SUV they were driving.

Police located the vehicle in front of College Park High School with another bomb inside.

The Walnut Creek Bomb Squad detonated a third bomb. Police say the teens claim they only had three pipe bombs.

Police arrested two of the teens, whose names were withheld because they are juveniles, on suspicion of possessing explosives. A third teen was arrested on unrelated charges, and the other two were released to their parents at the scene.
