Pacifica Cultural Center Burglary Suspects Fall Asleep On The Job

PACIFICA (CBS SF) -- Four suspects were arrested in connection with a burglary at a cultural arts center at Oddstad Park Thursday, police said.

Two of the suspects fell asleep after the burglary. Police found one sleeping inside the theatre, and another sleeping outside in the car.

Police responded to 1050 Crespi Dr. at 9:33 a.m. on report of a burglary that had occurred in the building which houses the Pacifica Spindrift Players, a nonprofit group that creates theater for the Pacifica community.

Officers arrested the two suspects at the scene. Joshua Shargel, 21, of Pacifica was arrested and booked into the county jail for burglary and conspiracy, police said.

Pacifica police detectives identified two additional suspects, Sarah Courtney, 19, and Russel Basques, 20, both of Pacifica.

Courtney was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy. She was booked into county jail, police said.

Basques was arrested for burglary and conspiracy. He was also booked into county jail, police said.

Police recovered numerous items, including equipment used by the Pacifica Spindrift Players.

The investigation remains under investigation.
