South SF Officer Helped Save 2-Month-Old's Life On Christmas

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A South San Francisco police officer helped save a 2-month-old infant who had stopped breathing on Christmas morning, a lieutenant said Thursday.

Police and firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting that a baby girl had stopped breathing at a home in the 700 block of Circle Court at about 10:40 a.m., South San Francisco police Lt. Mike Remedios said.

A police officer who was first to arrive found that the infant was still unable to breathe, Remedios said.

The officer took immediate action and cleared the infant's airway, allowing her to start breathing again, according to police.

The baby was taken to a hospital for further treatment and was reportedly "doing well," according to police.
