Belvedere Villa Up For Auction Starting At $25 Million

BELVEDERE (CBS 5) -- A waterfront Marin County villa with incredible views of San Francisco Bay will be put up for auction this Sunday, with a starting bid of $25 million.

Olivia Hsu Decker of Sotheby's International Realty is selling the seven bedroom home on 1.14 acres. "It's 15,500 square feet, the largest home in Belvedere," Decker said. "I call it the virgin home; no one has lived here yet."

CBS 5 recently toured the home, which has incredible views of the San Francisco skyline from just about every room. On the third floor, the master suite opens out to views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The deck alone is 5,000 square feet.

Nearby, wildlife flies and swims yards away. The home also has several high-tech items, with wall-mounted iPads, controlling light and temperature. Additional features include a home theater, wine cellar, and a private pool complete with art.

"It's open to registered bidders only," said Guy Masters, a luxury home auction consultant working with Decker. "In order to be a registered bidder, you need a $345,000 cashiers' check."

According to a listing on the auction website, the home was originally listed at $45 million. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to Red Cross Hurricane Sandy relief efforts and a charity of the buyer's choice.
